Greenmaster treadmills are designed to promote your health and fitness, and one of the ways we achieve this goal is to minimize stress and impact to your joints. A proper running surface is a necessity for injury free exercise. There is a great degree of variation in treadmills, and some can be like running on concrete. Greenmaster's exclusive SWING ARM™ deck cushioning system is designed to minimize the impact from running and walking.

Users that have had a history of lower back pain, shin splints, or degenerative knees will benefit from this system since the SWING ARM™ technology lessens the impact on these areas of the body. Instead of the impact sending the shock through your body, something we call "force rebound", the impact is dispersed through the swing-arm, deck, and frame of the treadmill. This creates a smooth, fluid walk or run with greatly reduced impact. The custom design allows for a soft, forgiving foot landing on the front of the belt, while providing a firm push-off from the rear. This provides an ideal surface that reduces impact and relieves pressure on your lower body muscles and tendons, in addition to your lower back.

Laboratory testing was conducted at
the Chaoyang University of Technology.
In recent university lab tests, Greenmaster’s SWING ARM™ shock absorption system was measured against traditional deck construction (cushion between deck and frame) used by other manufacturers to demonstrate its true benefits. Measurements were taken from various sensors placed on the user and treadmill to analyze the impact forces produced during exercise. Additional measurements were used to analyze the effects of SWING ARM™ technology on muscle contraction during exercise. The results showed a marked increase in the amount of force absorbed by the treadmill during exercise as well as reduced levels of muscle stress when compared to traditional deck construction.

With TRADITIONAL Construction: Two stage impact consisting of one short duration, medium intensity spike followed by longer duration, higher intensity spike / Higher overall peak force.

With SWING ARM™ Construction: Single stage impact consisting of one slightly longer duration, lower intensity spike / Lower overall peak force.

Conclusion: Results demonstrate an elimination of the double spike impact and an increased level of impact absorption with a SWING ARM™ cushioned deck versus a traditionally cushioned deck.

Conclusion: Results demonstrate a lower peak but longer duration muscle contraction with a SWING ARM™ cushioned deck versus a traditionally cushioned deck. Long duration, low intensity exercise is preferable for fat burning routines. This translates into 14 -23% more calories burned over the course of a workout.
